In 2018 I remember seeing drop-shipping articles and videos everywhere I looked on YouTube and Medium. One day they all just disappeared! But what happened? Did drop-shipping stores fail or are they still going strong? Why is no one talking about them anymore?
Short answer: Drop-shipping didn’t go anywhere. It’s still alive and well; however, people quickly realized it wasn’t as easy as everyone made it seem. So that video and blog topic ended up dying out. Now, there are still videos and articles written about drop-shipping (like this one), it’s just not nearly as common.
I decided to do some digging to figure out what’s going on in the world of drop-shipping. I owned a drop-shipping store from 2018 to 2019 and while it wasn’t a money printing machine it did make me a couple hundred dollars every month and was very fun to run. I look back on that time fondly and it made me miss drop-shipping and Shopify.
